Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has once again refused to rule out the possibility of moving for Man United winger Amad this summer.
The talented young Ivory Coast international has spent the second half of the season on loan at Ibrox and after a rocky start has begun to settle into the Rangers side.
Now with two goals in two games, we’re beginning to see flashes of what the tricky 19-year-old can bring to the team and fans like what they see.
How much Amad has embraced life at Rangers also helps.
Rangers refuse to rule out summer move for Man United talent Amad
Signed by Manchester United in a £19m rising to £37m deal from Serie A Atalanta in January 2021, you can see exactly why the Red Devils forked out so much money.
This also suggests that if anything, Rangers would only be pursuing a loan move for the youngster.
But there is a rawness to both Ahmad’s game and his personality that needs to be developed before he can make his mark on the Premier League.
For many, that progress has been evident during his stint with Rangers and it would be a shame to see it stifled by the player heading back to Old Trafford prematurely.
Speaking after Amad scored in the 4-1 win over Ross County, Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst was tight-lipped on the winger’s situation but refused to rule anything out.
“I’m happy with Amad,” said Van Bronckhorst [Glasgow Times].
“He’s been getting more minutes in the last few weeks.
“He’s been training well, he had a moment where he found it a bit difficult with the new team he was in, the adaptation to a new city, but I’m really happy with him.
“He’s a very, very good winger as we’ve seen the last few weeks but we also have a lot of players in that position available who have also done well. I’m happy with his performance.
“His loan is to the end of the season, then he goes back to Manchester. If he’s here next season, I don’t know.”
Meanwhile, one Rangers star has dropped the biggest hint yet that he’ll be around next season as his contract prepares to expire in the summer.
