Man United loanee Amad might not have managed to set the heather alight on the park for Rangers, but he had Celtic fans furious off it after the Gers reached the Europa League Final.
On a historic night at Ibrox, the Gers overcame a one goal deficit to beat RB Leipzig 3-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate and progress to the competition’s showpiece in Seville.
Seville is of course the city where Celtic were beaten by Porto in the UEFA Cup Final of 2003 but now Rangers are out to tarnish their memories by lifting the cup against Frankfurt.
Indisputably, this would be the greatest achievement in not just Rangers history but Scottish footballing history and there are plenty of nerves across the city.
With tensions running high Amad was out mixing the pot as he tweeted in the aftermath of the Rangers victory donning a union jack bucket hat and about 400 scarves.
But not only was the Man United loanee fun celebrating the Ibrox side’s famous victory; he also couldn’t resist rubbing Celtic fan noses in it.
Taking to Twitter, Amad made mention of the fact Celtic were six points ahead in the Scottish Premiership but that Rangers had reached a European Final.
Needless to say, the young Ivorian caught more than a few whoppers on his baited hook as elements of the Celtic support went into meltdown.
Amad had a stuttering start to life at Ibrox for sure but in recent weeks we’ve seen a settled youngster finally beginning to find his feet at the club.
In tears as Rangers remembered Jimmy Bell, the youngster showed class in his tribute to the Ibrox kitman and was up front and centre when we pipped Celtic to the Scottish Cup Final.
Just when he begins to settle, it looks like he’s heading back to Man United, but would another season at Ibrox benefit all three parties best?
