Rangers don’t just need to rebuild this summer, Michael Beale needs to rip apart his squad.
The Gers gaffer has been open about how many additions he thinks he needs but has also revealed that there will be current squad members who he needs to speak to about playing time for next season.
As part of the pre-match build up for Rangers short trip to St Mirren, Michael Beale explained what his transfer plan for the summer will be:
“There’s three or four things that we know are there. We announced Kieran last week and there’s a couple of other things that are sorted.
“There’s more talking and negotiations – I’m in a really positive place about where things are going.
“As a manager, until you see the player at the training ground, it’s never concrete but I’m pleased with the way it’s going.”
It all sounds good.

James Bisgrove has said that deals are already in place and so has the manager.
It doesn’t seem like there will be a last minute rush for additions at Rangers and that Michael Beale is going to have the key players needed when pre-season training kicks off.
Getting his squad down to a manageable level might prove to be a trickier affair but that can be dealt with later.
Qualifying for the Champions League gives Rangers leeway in terms of what price tags we can accept to get players off the wage bill and reduce the squad.
It might lead to us having an even bigger one for the early stages of the season but, with the window open until September, Rangers could be a good source for a bargain or two.
Even getting players out on loan to put them in the shop window and off our budget would be a help.
Michael Beale is excited, and so should we be, the squad that we see against St Mirren could be very different to the one that we put out against our first opponents in 2023/24.
