James Bisgrove has revealed that Rangers are serious about backing Michael Beale this summer and that Champions League qualification isn’t a factor.
If the Light Blues want to repeat the success of last season and qualify for the continent’s elite tournament, the Gers gaffer has to be backed in the transfer window.
Thankfully, speaking to Kris Boyd on Sky Sports, James Bisgrove has claimed that Rangers will not be taking any chances and that a plan is in place.
When asked if the budget depended on getting through the qualifiers, the incoming CEO said:
“No, no that’s not the case, at the moment we’ve got a plan that’s been presented by the manager backed up by the recruitment team and that plan has been endorsed by the chairman, the board and the investors.
“So, the funding for that plan, if you like, is in place.
“We’re on it, we’re not holding back and hopefully we will be well placed come July.”
Music to every Gers fans ears.
James Bisgrove not repeating the mistakes of Rangers past
In 2021, it was clear that the board rested on their laurels and thought that Steven Gerrard had enough to make it through.
Leaving him with just Cedric Itten to face Malmo and with countless others unavailable was unacceptable and they were just as culpable as the former boss for not getting the job done.
With Kieran Dowell already signed, a new keeper a week away according to Michael Beale, Rangers are putting their money where their mouths are and taking no chances.
There is too much money at stake not to invest in a squad that needs serious work, too many players that have let us down in the past.
There are key players that also need to be replaced with even better ones.
James Bisgrove has hit every target that he has set as commercial and marketing director, if he says there is a plan in place and we aren’t “holding back” then we could be in for an exciting summer.
