Rangers ray of light in £20m striker transfer update

Rangers have already signed Cyriel Dessers and Danilo this summer which suggests that a move for Joel Piroe is out of the question.

The Swansea City striker has been linked with the Light Blues for a while, however, a £20m transfer valuation always ruled us out.

A future transfer to Rangers shouldn’t entirely be ruled out though after Alan Nixon via Patreon claimed that Joel Piroe might be holding out for a free transfer.

According to The Sun journalist, the 23-year old forward is attracting interest from both Leicester City and Leeds Utd but that the Swans price tag for Piroe is putting them off.

An, as yet, unnamed Serie A side is said to be eyeing a January move if the 20-goal striker decides to stay put this summer and open up his options.

Rangers back in the reckoning if Joe Piroe stays put

Rangers never seemed a likely destination for Joel Piroe for financial reasons but on a pre-contract agreement or free transfer, we have as good a chance as any.

We can’t pay the wages of the Premier League top earners but can compensate this with the prospect of Champions League football and the chance to win trophies.

Rangers-linked Joel Piroe is, reportedly, on only £10,000 according to Salary Sport some way below the £39,000 that Danilo is said to be receiving.

One thing that this summer has proven, is that Rangers still has a sizeable pull and Joe Piroe should be no different.

Both Dessers and Danilo would have had other options in better leagues than the Scottish Premiership but there is a reason why they joined Rangers.

Due to our pathetic TV deal, we don’t have the same comparative spending power as some of the teams we regularly face in Europe so, our recruitment has to be even more on point.

What we do have though is history and prestige.

Rangers need pre-contract agreement deals and cut price transfers to be self-sufficient, if Joe Piroe is still at Swansea City when the transfer window shuts, I’d expect a Michael Beale presentation to be getting prepared.
