Derek McInnes is expected to be backed in the summer transfer window as he’s set to be appointed the Rangers manager.

With a number of players leaving Ibrox at the end of last season, the new Gers boss is tasked with an important rebuild.

This will be the owners‘ third transfer window since they bought the club, but it is undoubtedly the most crucial one as they not only have a new manager but also are without their long-serving captain, James Tavernier.

Rangers prepared to table bid for Luke Graham

Dundee centre-back Luke Graham has been on Rangers’ radar for months, with the club finally ready to make an offer for him, according to TEAMtalk.

The Gers have been in constant contact with the 22-year-old and are finally prepared to launch a bid.

Given McInnes is just joining, if an agreement can be reached with Dundee, Graham will then become the first signing under him.

Lawrence Shankland already joined from Hearts, but he was brought in when Rohl was the manager.

The Light Blues know that they will have to act soon if they are to sign the centre-back this summer.

It has been claimed that there are as many as 40 clubs on the continent keeping tabs on his situation.

Portsmouth are also hot on his heels after submitting a bid in January but failing to secure his services.

Along with them, Schalke 04, Valencia, RB Salzburg and Lech Poznan are among the clubs considering signing Graham, while there is also interest from Scotland with Celtic and Hearts both linked.

Will John Souttar leave if Graham moves to Ibrox?

John Souttar already fell in the pecking order last season, losing his first-team place to Nasser Djiga.

Now with Djiga back at his parent club, Wolves, which means that with the centre-backs currently at the club, Souttar is the second choice.

However, should Graham join, he would once again struggle for game time, and that could see him leave.

Russell Martin wants a reunion with Souttar at Leicester City, and the Scotland international may fancy a move south of the border.

His brother Harry Souttar is already at the King Power Stadium, which may be an incentive for him to leave.
