Football has changed this summer, for how long, nobody really knows and even Rangers have been affected by the growing influence of Saudi Arabia with Neil McCann potentially pulling the strings.

Players like Jack Hendry and Fashion Sakala probably didn’t think that they would be playing in the middle east at their peak or players like James Tavernier and Lawrence Shankland being linked with moves.

There is a connection for the Rangers and Saudi Arabia rumours as well as the Scottish players and it is one that is very close to home in Neil McCann.

The former Ibrox hero is a consultant with STORMSPORTSX, an agency that has multiple SPFL and Scottish players on their books.

Jack Hendry has already played under Steven Gerrard at his new club whilst the most recent rumour has seen Lawrence Shankland mentioned as a possible target.

Glen Kamara is likely to head south after a brief flirt after interest from across the continent but James Tavernier having his name on the back pages was a surprise.

The transfer deadline for the Pro League lasts a few weeks after the SPFL date of the 1st of September which could leave a few boardroom discussions should offers land on the desk of Michael Beale once ours closes.

Rangers could do with Neil McCann picking up the phone and asking if there would be any takers for Scott Wright…
