Rangers have already named their price if they are to sell Ridvan Yilmaz amid links to Galatasaray and Verona.

The situation surrounding Turkish international left-back Yilmaz, 22, has been one of the longest running sagas of the transfer window.

Speculation has been rife about a move to Verona all January, with the Serie A side looking at Ridvan as a potential replacement for the outgoing Josh Doig.

There have been reports that Turkish giants Galatasaray have also offered Ridvan Yilmaz a Rangers reprieve, only to see a bid thrown out by the Ibrox side.

Now, an established Turkish journalist has slapped an official price tag on the player as Rangers manager Philippe Clement claims the defender will only leave for the right price.

Rangers name Ridvan Yilmaz price

Yagiz Sabuncuoglu is one of the more reputable names in Turkish media and has been discussing the situation surrounding Ridvan Yilmaz with Sports Digitale this week.

Expanding on those reports of Galatasaray’s interest, the journalist explains that Rangers want a guarantee of €5m (£4.3m) to let Ridvan Yilmaz leave.

This could either be in money put up in the January window, or via a compulsory purchase option in the summer following an initial loan move.

Galatasaray’s initial loan-to-buy offer is not said to include a compulsory purchase option.

“Let me tell you, Galatasaray has to rent him through a compulsory purchase,” said Yagiz. “For this they do not fall below €5m. If a figure of €5m or more comes directly, they will accept his sale and let him go. But for now, Ridvan is playing.

“They (Rangers) rejected the offer in the morning, there were news like this, saying Rangers are bluffing. Ridvan has been playing in the first 11 for six matches, so there is no bluff or price increase here. There is no situation like this.

“Ridvan is one of the professionals in the current squad who is currently on Rangers’ need list. There is a perception that they want to get rid of Ridvan but there is no such situation.”

Rangers left-back staying put?

Rangers signed Ridvan Yilmaz on an initial £3.4m deal back in the summer of 2022, with the move potentially rising to £5m dependent on add-ons.

It’s clear the Ibrox club do not want to make a loss on the defender and any interested suitors will either need to put up or shut up when it comes to the left-back.

There has been much speculation surrounding Ridvan Yilmaz’s future as of late but it appears Rangers have their price and are not going to budge.

The player too – in a message on social media – appeared to reaffirm his commitment to the Rangers squad with an impassioned message.

It all points to a potential Ridvan Yilmaz impasse and unless Galatasaray, Verona, or anyone else cough up, we don’t see the Young Turk going anywhere.
