According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers have made contact with EFL League Two club Morecambe regarding winger Carlos Mendes Gomes.
Gomes is a 22-year-old wide player who has shone in the fourth tier of English football this season, racking up 12 goals and an assist from 37 appearances for the promotion-chasing Shrimps.

Born in Dakar, Senegal, he was raised in Spain, where he spent time with Atletico Madrid’s Academy.
He moved to England as a teenager and played non-league football for North West Counties outfit West Didsbury and Chorlton.
Gomes was picked up by Morecambe in 2018 and since then, has racked up 82 appearances, although all but two of his goals have come this season.
The Scottish Sun reports that the Gers have watched him on multiple occasions and have registered their interest with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Gomes can play on either flank or up front, but has mainly been used on the right in recent times.

If Rangers are genuinely interested in the pacy winger, it wouldn’t be the first time that they’ve shopped in EFL League Two, with defender George Edmundson signing from Oldham Athletic in 2019.
Steven Gerrard currently only really has Ryan Kent and Scott Wright at his disposal in terms of natural wide players but a whole host of wingers are out on loan, including Jordan Jones, Brandon Barker, Josh McPake, Jake Hastie and Jamie Murphy, although Murphy is set to join Hibernian permanently in the summer.
Meanwhile, supporters are delighted with a contract update regarding an important player.
