Reports in Greece are claiming that Rangers’ interest in Aris winger Luis Palma could depend on the future of Ibrox attacker Rabbi Matondo.
Greek outlet Gazzetta are reporting that Rangers had initially removed Honduran international Luis Palma from their transfer shortlist, with the Aris winger extensively linked heading into the summer.
But now, the Gers are said to be interested in resurrecting a deal for Luis Palma, who has been valued around €5m (£4.5m) in earlier reports coming out of the continent.
Aris winger Luis Palma links depend on Rabbi Matondo
The report claims that Rangers’ interest in Palma is linked to discussions surrounding the future of Welsh international winger Rabbi Matondo, who has toiled in his first season at Ibrox.
Mentioning the reported €3m (£2.5m) fee spent to bring Rabbi Matondo from German outfit Schalke 04 in the summer, Rangers are also reportedly paying £28k per week for the kid’s services.
Matondo’s failure to deliver for Rangers this season is a big part of the reason why the club has flapped domestically, even if the winger is only 22.
When Rangers spend that sort of money, there is expected to be an immediate return, and Matondo has toiled in the face of Ibrox pressure.

More recently, Rangers fans have seen flashes of the £11m player who left Manchester City for Germany and it would be good to see the winger get off the mark for the club in the final few matches.
According to reports in Greece, Rangers are ready to ship Matondo out on loan in the summer, with Aris star Palma set to replace him.
If this is true, then Rangers must also be eyeing someone else to replace reportedly Fenerbahce-bound Ryan Kent, who is another high-profile wide player set to leave Ibrox this summer.
