Rangers linked midfielder Renato Tapia has reportedly stalled on a move to PEC Zwolle having recently been omitted from Dick Advocaat’s Feyenoord squad.
Earlier this month, Voetbal International claimed that both Rangers and Celtic were interested in the Peru international.

Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle then emerged as favourites for his signature, but according to De Stentor he stalled on a transfer there at the end of last week due to ‘hijackers from Moscow and Glasgow.’
Zwolle then moved on and signed Rico Strieder on loan from Utrecht.
Amid the transfer speculation, Tapia was excluded from the matchday squad for Tuesday’s KNVB cup match against Fortuna Sittard, which was eventually abandoned due to heavy fog.
Verdict
Most Rangers fans would prefer to hear about the club moving for a new attacker, rather than a defensive-minded midfielder.
However, it appears there could well still be some interest in Tapia, with Zwolle now seemingly out of the race.
The Gers may soon look a little light on midfielders following the departures of Andy King and Jamie Barjonas, with Greg Docherty also said to be on his way.

Out of contract in the summer, the Peruvian could represent a cheap option to provide back-up to the likes of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara and Ryan Jack, at least until the end of the season.
As things stand ahead of the final week of the window, though, there still haven’t been any new arrivals at Ibrox.
