Rangers fans have responded to a report which claims that loanee Andy King has returned to his parent club Leicester City.
Rangers have terminated the loan deal of Leicester midfielder Andy King, and he has returned to the Premier League club early
— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) January 5, 2020
The 31-year-old was brought in by Steven Gerrard in August, to ensure that the Gers boss had an extra option in midfield.
However, while he was used occasionally as a substitute over his first two months in Glasgow, he didn’t manage to make a single start and he hadn’t been seen at all since late September.
It’s a testament to the performances of the rest of the club’s midfielders that King wasn’t able to get a look in.
When the club snapped up a Premier League winner with 50 international caps, it was assumed he’d be involved at least semi-regularly.
However, Messrs Jack, Davis, Kamara, Aribo and Arfield have ensured Gers fans saw next to nothing of him.
King now returns to Leicester, the club to whom he’s been contracted for his entire professional career, and is now free to seek out an alternative loan move for the second half of the season, as he’s unlikely to find a way into Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
Here’s a selection of reactions to the news from Rangers fans on Twitter:
Waste of time tbh.
Clearly well past it now. But best of luck to him.

Don’t think he was ever fully fit, which is a shame. All the best where he ends up next.

Not good enough for rangers, simple as that, couldn’t dislodge any of our starters 🤷♀️
— Ashley (@spuckwolf) January 5, 2020
Was never sure of that one in the first place. Bit of a waste of wages tbh 🤷🏻♂️
