Rangers-linked Blackpool striker Jerry Yates continued his fine form with the Seasiders by netting a late winner against Coventry City over the weekend.

The 25-year-old hitman netted his 9th Championship goal of the season against the Sky Blues as Blackpool came from behind to record a vital three points.

Kasey Palmer had given Coventry City the lead five minutes before half time with a second-half Blackpool rally seeing Michael Appleton’s side reverse the result.

Gary Madine has Blackpool level within 10 minutes of the restart before the increasingly lethal Jerry Yates secured the win with a cushioned header in the 80th minute.

Rangers-linked Jerry Yates continues Blackpool hot streak

The goal was Jerry Yates’ 7th strike in only 5 matches as the striker continues his rich vein of scoring form.

Rangers were linked with a move for the striker earlier in October as reports suggested the Gers were one of a number of clubs who’d watched the player net a double in a 4-2 Blackpool win over Preston North End.

However, the Sun have also claimed Rangers aren’t the only ones with an eye on Jerry Yates with Premier League duo Brentford and Bournemouth amongst 10 clubs in attendance.

The English Championship is a competitive level of professional football and it’s little surprise Yates’ scoring form this season is grabbing the headlines and the attention of other clubs.

Interestingly, Rangers were linked to the player in 2021 after his 20 goals helped Blackpool to promotion from League One following a move from Rotherham.

Valued at £2m then, Rangers will reportedly have to pay more than double that now if they want to make any interest in Jerry Yates concrete.

The Sun report suggests the player is valued around £5m.

Meanwhile, one Rangers striker continues his run of bad luck as he is handed yet another devastating blow.
