Rangers insider Four Lads Had a Dream claim the Ibrox side are actively looking to bring in a replacement for Everton-bound Nathan Patterson.

The Gers’ club transfer record was smashed by the Goodison Park club who will spend up to £16m bringing the 20-year-old Scotland international full-back to the Premier League.

Nathan signs a deal with the Toffees until 2027 and whilst Rangers fans are generally gutted to see the boy go, the club’s support understand how the nature of the deal suits all parties.

Rangers captain James Tavernier will take some shifting from the Ibrox XI and the move allows the youngster to get regular first-team football at the highest level.

But despite the fact the Ibrox skipper is the main man at right-back for Rangers the club are actively looking to bolster the squad in that position.

Rangers actively working “behind the scenes to replace Nathan Patterson

There was some suggestion that Rangers B team star Adam Devine could perhaps follow in Nathan Patterson’s footsteps behind the Gers captain but Four Lads claim the club will look to recruit elsewhere.

Known to have close links to the club, the popular Rangers fan blog claims work is already underway “behind the scenes” to bring in a right-back to “challenge” James Tavernier.

This is on top of a proposed 18-month loan deal to sign USA international James Sands, which according to reports is edging closer to completion.

Whilst Four Lads don’t go into specifics about who Rangers are targeting to replace Nathan Patterson, it looks like a deal for James Sands won’t be the only incoming this January.

Meanwhile, Rangers fans will be left disappointed after a major summer target appears to sign a deal elsewhere.
