Rangers in the frame as winger looks to end transfer misery

Rangers will look to add more depth to the forward line in this transfer window to follow on from the signing of Fabio Silva, with Ryan Kent being linked with a move away from Fenerbahce, expect to see his name reported.

The former Ibrox winger has failed to settle in Turkey but the biggest issue appears to be his lack of playing time, failing to even make the bench in their recent league game.

As Rangers manager, Philippe Clement will want to strengthen his squad and, according to Ahmet Selim Kul, who is a Fenerbahce correspondent on Turkish TV, Ryan Kent would be keen on a return to Glasgow.

Rangers could have Ryan Kent return option

The 27-year old’s move to the Super Lig has not gone to plan.

With just 134 minutes in the league, he has basically been resigned to the role of backup, if the backup is injured.

What doesn’t help his case is that Dusan Tadic is first choice for his left-wing position.

Formerly of Ajax, it’s doubtful that Kent would have made the move to Instanbul if Tadic had signed before him.

Speaking to The Rangers Review, Kul explained what the future holds for Ryan Kent and where he wants to go next:

“I have heard that from Kent’s side that he does not want to leave Fenerbahce in this transfer window but I believe he will leave.

“There is a lot of interest in him from Turkey, the English Championship, with Hull City wanting to transfer him.

“Their owner is Turkish and has a very good relationship with Fenerbahce. It is not clear what Kent will do because I have heard that he wants to return to Premier League or Scottish Premiership.

“He does not want to go to the Championship or another Turkish team.”

Kent maybe needs to set his sights a bit lower.

Ross McCausland is just one behind Kent’s goal tally from his last season at the club.

Abdallah Sima has down right embarrassed Kent’s numbers by scoring more than twice as many goals as the Englishman did in his last two seasons combined.

Rangers have moved on from Ryan Kent.

Philippe Clement maybe tried to sign him when he was Bruges manager but that was when he was 22-years old and off the back of a promising season at Rangers.

The last three seasons have been nothing short of a disaster for the former Scottish Premiership young player of the season.

Aside from his form in the Europa League run in 2022, he just hasn’t produced anywhere near enough.

The sort of form that doesn’t exactly have clubs pestering his agent.
