Rangers fans have responded positively to the news that three Academy players are set to join Orange County SC on loan for the 2020 season.
The campaign kicks off next month and runs through to November, with Cammy Palmer, Danny Finlayson and Matthew Shiels expected to play a full part in first-team activities.
Palmer has played at the highest level of the three, having spent the second half of 2019 on loan with Partick Thistle in the Scottish Championship.
For fellow Northern Ireland youth international, Danny Finlayson, this is a first foray into senior football, while Shiels has experienced the lower divisions of the SPFL, first with Edinburgh City and now with Dumbarton.
They’re the first young players to benefit from Rangers’ partnership with the California based club, and they’ll be tested out in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship, which is the tier below the MLS.

It’ll be a total change of lifestyle for the trio and it’s an immensely exciting opportunity.
Gers managing director, Stewart Robertson, referred to the loan agreement as a ‘significant step’ in the partnership between the two clubs and called on US-based Gers fans to come out in support of OCSC over the coming season [Rangers.co.uk].
The news was certainly welcomed by plenty of Bears on social media, who have wished the Academy starlets well.
