Rangers loanee Cammy Palmer’s omission from the Partick Thistle matchday squad on Saturday afternoon could suggest he’s on his way back to Ibrox.
The Jags travelled to Alloa Athletic for a 3pm kick-off in the Scottish Championship, but Palmer, who had been included in every league matchday squad since joining the club in August, was nowhere to be seen.
It seems likely that means he’s played his final game for his adopted side.
It’s been a beneficial loan stint for the 19-year-old midfielder, who has made his professional debut, scored his first professional goal and racked up over 1000 minutes of playing time across Championship and League Cup fixtures.
However, his spell was always due to come to an end at some stage this month, and although Thistle boss, Ian McCall, recently said he would speak to the teenager about the potential pros and cons of extending his stay, Rangers insider Four Lads Had a Dream asserted that there would be no extension to his initial deal.
The Northern Ireland youth international captained the Gers to the SPFL Reserve League title last season, and will likely slot back into Colts and Development football upon his return.
