It seems like every single transfer window Scott Wright is on the verge of leaving Rangers.
Only for the winger to pop up on the bench or in the starting XI whenever the club’s inevitable injury crisis takes hold at a crucial moment of the season.
There are plenty of fans praying that it’s not Groundhog Day at Ibrox again this season.
Whilst Scott Wright has been an industrious option for the club, the winger has had enough chances to leave a proper impression on the first team squad over the last three-and-a-half years.
As Rangers rip things up under Philippe Clement, the attacker is amongst an additional seven linked to the exit door.
Now, the manager of one club of potential suitors has been fielding questions about transfer interest in Wright this summer.

Manager Wright-lipped on transfers
Last summer Scott Wright almost moved to Turkey.
This year the 26-year-old is reportedly on the verge of a switch to the Owls.
Sheffield Wednesday have been strongly linked with a move for the ex-Aberdeen winger as Clement looks to reshape the club’s first-team squad.
Now, the Championship club’s manager Danny Rohl has bit back at questions related specifically to Scott Wright following a pre-season friendly.
“I will not speak about names because it makes no sense,” Rohl told BBC Sport South Yorkshire show Football Heaven, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“This market goes so quick. We have an idea what we want to have, I have an idea of how I want to play in the new season.
“We know what we have to improve when we look back from last season and then it’s about finding the right pieces to make our squad stronger and stronger because we are very ambitious for the new season.”
Rangers star’s future remains uncertain
The comments certainly don’t rule out a Sheffield Wednesday swoop for Scott Wright this summer.
They certainly don’t confirm one either.
Rangers are revamping their squad and the wide areas are under intense scrutiny from supporters due to a lack of contribution from the club’s wingers in recent seasons.
Scott Wright is amongst that number and has – quite rightly – come under the microscope himself.
In 117 appearances for Rangers, Wright has managed only 12 goals and seven assists.
After years of domestic failure it’s time for change and it’s clear the Ibrox side need better if they’re to wrestle back the Scottish Premiership title.
With Ross McCausland also coming through in the right wing position, Wright’s minutes are not only limited but they prevent the development of one of the club’s burgeoning young talents.
For us – and Rangers – the time for Scott Wright to move on was last summer but this window is as good as any to breathe some fresh life into the team.
But until a switch to Hillsborough is confirmed, don’t rule out the winger propping up the bench at Tynecastle in a month’s time.
