Rangers risk losing a rising star after representatives of two Premier League clubs flew into Scotland on Saturday.

With the 2025-26 campaign all wrapped up, the Light Blues will look to put the disappointment behind them and look ahead to the new season.

There had been question marks over Danny Rohl’s future, but Andrew Cavenagh put all speculation to bed by announcing on Sunday that the German will lead Rangers next season.

That means all eyes will now be on the transfer market, with several players expected to move in and out of the club when the window opens.

Nottingham Forest and Southampton representatives in Scotland over Calum Adamson

One player who could be on his way out of Ibrox this summer is Calum Adamson.

The 18-year-old has impressed on loan at Alloa Athletic this season, bagging three goals and five assists in Scottish League One and helping them earn promotion to the Championship.

Rangers have been paying attention to his performances and are said to be keen to integrate him into the first-team setup next season.

However, the Glaswegian outfit could face a serious fight to retain Adamson’s services, as there is increasing interest in the teenager from clubs south of the border.

According to the Daily Record, Nottingham Forest and Southampton sent scouts to watch the midfielder in action on Saturday, as the Wasps beat Stenhousemuir in the promotion play-off final.

Scouts from Hull City and Lincoln City are also said to have been in attendance at the game.

Adamson is set to enter the final year of his contract at Ibrox, but could attract offers from clubs in England this summer.

The player, for his part, is keen to step up to first-team football, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Rangers must convince Adamson to stay

The fact that the likes of Nottingham Forest and Southampton sent representatives to keep tabs on Adamson is a testament to his potential and quality.

Therefore, Rangers must do everything at their disposal to keep the youngster, and if possible, tie him down to a new contract at Ibrox.

The Gers hierarchy will be hopeful that Adamson has a desire to prove himself at the first-team level at the Govan club, and not elsewhere.

With the summer transfer window fast-approaching, it remains to be seen if Rohl can convince the highly-rated midfielder to stay.
