Rangers have been linked with a summer move for Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn with the player well-known to Ross Wilson from the Ibrox sporting director’s time at Southampton.

Gers boss Michael Beale has already confirmed that the Ibrox side are monitoring several options ahead of the summer window after much debate in the position.

Allan McGregor – who has just been inducted into the Ibrox club’s prestigious Hall of Fame – is now 41-years-old with the latest reports suggesting that the legendary stopper could hang up his gloves this summer.

There are also doubts surrounding Jon McLaughlin, whilst much-hyped Academy goalkeeper Robby McCrorie has been struggling with injury as of late.

One name who is reportedly at the top of Rangers’ next potential goalkeeper is Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn, who is currently playing second-fiddle to Tim Krul at Carrow Road.

Those reports originated in the Scottish Sun, who claim the player is available for £3m come the next transfer window.

Now 27-years-old, Angus Gunn has had an interesting career to date with Ross Wilson already well aware of the goalkeeper from his time in Southampton.

The keeper came through the youth ranks at Man City before the Saints reportedly splashed out a whopping £13.5m to sign Angus Gun in 2018 [Sky Sports].

After a difficult three years at St Mary’s, the player was sold to Norwich City (with a loan spell at Stoke City in between) and since 2021 Gunn has been with the Canaries.

Young(ish) for a goalkeeper with a point to prove, the former England U21 international appears to tick a lot of those Michael Beale boxes.

But it might well be Angus Gunn’s relationship with the Rangers sporting director which is a difference-maker with the Norwich City goalkeeper already well aware of how Ross Wilson operates.

Meanwhile, is Josh Maja the striker Michael Beale dropped a transfer hint about in January?
