Rangers are set for a major squad overhaul under Danny Rohl this summer transfer window.

The Light Blues had a disappointing end to the season after losing four of their five post-split games and fumbling the title race, meaning they are happy to quickly turn their attention towards the summer.

With Andrew Cavenagh extending his support to Rohl publicly, the focus is now on giving the German tactician the tools required to mount a solid title challenge next term.

Rangers to offload 22-year-old

While several new signings are expected to walk through the doors at Ibrox, the Gers’ summer overhaul will also include offloading players who do not feature in Rohl‘s plans.

Among those players is Clinton Nsiala, who is currently on loan at KVC Westerlo.

The Belgian Pro League club signed the centre-back on a temporary deal in the winter transfer window, with an option to make it permanent included in the agreement.

However, Rangers are now braced for Nsiala’s return, according to the Daily Record.

The former AC Milan defender is unlikely to see his move to Westerlo made permanent after making only three appearances for them.

Therefore, the Ibrox outfit will tell him to find a new club this summer.

Clinton Nsiala is finished at Ibrox

When Rangers swooped up Nsiala on a free transfer from Milan‘s youth setup in 2024, it seemed to be an exciting deal.

However, it has become evident that the 22-year-old is not cut out for the Premiership or the Govan club.

Young left-footed centre-backs are in demand right now, but the fact that Nsiala cannot even get significant minutes at Westerlo speaks volumes about his ability.

It is unclear how much the Belgian club had agreed to pay the Gers if they were to make his loan permanent, but it appears it will not go through anyway.

The Glaswegian outfit will hope that they can still get a fee for Nsiala’s sale this summer.

Apart from the Frenchman, several other deadwood players are expected to be shipped off this summer, as Cavenagh and Rohl oversee a major revamp.
