Rangers will be looking to add strikers to the forward line this summer and Britt Assombalonga would be a good value option.
The 30-year old DR Congo attacker has had a nomadic few years, playing for three clubs since 2021 but is now available on a free transfer.

According to Darren Witcoop of The Mirror, once Rangers-linked Britt Assombalonga is set to leave Watford after a short-term deal expires, the Championship outfit did have an option of another year.
Assombalonga, who cost Middlesbrough a reported £15m when he signed from Nottingham Forest in 2017, has a commendable goal-scoring record and would be a no risk option for Michael Beale.
With 151 career goals and 20 assists, he has a goal contribution of almost one every two games when starting.
This season, between Turkey’s Super Lig and the Championship in England, he has eight goals in just 700 minutes.
Perhaps more important, is that he hasn’t really been injured since 2015 when he missed a whole season due to a knee operation.
Why Rangers would be a good fit for Britt Assombalonga
Michael Beale needs to, and has admitted that he will, strengthen the Rangers attack and Britt Assombalonga would represent a more robust senior option to Kemar Roofe.
As an Alfredo Morelos replacement, the manager will be looking for someone more dynamic, however, as one of three or four, the experienced hitman could be relied upon to play at any level.
Rangers were linked with Britt Assombalonga under Steven Gerrard in 2021 which means that current gaffer Beale was also a fan.
At Middlesbrough, the 9-times capped international was given the captain’s armband which shows that he has the sort of character that Rangers will be looking for this summer, a player doesn’t need to know the club to be a leader.
Todd Cantwell is proof of that.
In a summer when money will have to be spent wisely, targeting a player who has been heavily scouted before and who the manager knows would fit into his system makes sense.
As does the fact that he is available for free and would soften the blow of seeing Morelos walk out the door without receiving a penny.
