Rangers could now look to former Ibrox director Ross Wilson and Nottingham Forest in their hunt for Jonathan Panzo after suffering a major Arsenal Auston Trusty blow.
Gers boss Michael Beale has been clear that a new defender is in the club’s crosshairs this summer but according to reports, Arsenal centre-back Auston Trusty is now out of bounds.

The reports claim that the USA international defender – who was Birmingham City supporters’ Player of the Year last season – is too expensive as things stand.
That means Rangers might have to turn their attentions elsewhere with the likes of Jonathan Panzo extensively linked in the press.
Can Wilson link help Rangers land Jonathan Panzo?
Whilst the 22-year-old England youth international centre-back spent last season on loan at Coventry City, he is currently employed by Nottingham Forest where ex-Ibrox director Ross Wilson is sporting director.
This means the former Rangers board member will be central to any potential transfers coming out of the City Ground and thus will be key to any potential Jonathan Panzo negotiations.
Rangers obviously have an open line to the former Southampton recruitment guru and perhaps Michael Beale will utilise it in his search for a defender.
The Ibrox manager has been clear that he wants to add physicality to the centre-back positions after the club’s wobbly defenders crumbled under an injury crisis last campaign.
Rangers had injury problems involving all four first choice centre-backs, with the loss of Connor Goldson and Ben Davies costing the club big at a crucial stage of the season.
Filip Helander has also been released after missing the entire campaign through injury, whilst the returning John Souttar has earned praise for his performances towards the end of the season.
As the links to Auston Trusty start to fizzle out, perhaps Jonathan Panzo is a young, hungry solution to Rangers’ issues at centre-back and Ross Wilson will certainly be easy to deal with regarding any move.
