Rangers and Brentford have both contacted Swedish top-flight club IFK Goteborg regarding midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, according to SCORENigeria.
The Gers have only just added to their options in the middle of the park through the signing of former Sheffield United player John Lundstram on a free.

But it appears that Steven Gerrard might not yet be content with his engine room recruitment.
That’s as SCORENigeria reports that Yusuf is on the Gers’ radar.
It’s asserted that the Light Blues and newly-promoted Premier League club Brentford are the latest to enquire about the 20-year-old, with Wolves and Sheffield United also both previously linked with him.
IFK are thought to be willing to sell given that the young Nigerian only has a year remaining on his contract and their asking price is said to be between €3m (£2.6m) and €4m (£3.4m).

It’s not the first time this summer that Rangers have been linked with an Allsvenskan star.
They were credited with interest in former IF Elfsborg centre-back Joseph Okumu, but the Kenya international recently joined Belgian club, KAA Gent, on a long-term deal.
Yusuf has been a regular at IFK for several seasons, racking up an impressive 76 competitive appearances.
As a predominantly defensive midfielder, his attacking stats aren’t much to write home about, as he only has two career goals and nine assists to his name.
He has started all but one of IFK’s nine league fixtures during the ongoing 2021 season and his importance to the side partially explains his relatively large asking price.
After the signing of Lundstram, it appears unlikely that the Gers will add further in midfield unless a current asset is sold.
However, with a host of sides reportedly tracking Glen Kamara, it is very much possible that Rangers will look to cash in on the Finland international this summer.
Plenty of Bears are excited about the signing of Lundstram, but an EFL club expert has dropped a warning about his attitude.
