Rangers are closing in on another signing having confirmed the arrival of Feyenoord defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo on Friday evening.

Rangers came into deadline day needing to get business done in order to bolster Philippe Clement’s squad.

Reports overnight suggests that Rangers were signing Feyenoord defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo as the Dutch press reported an imminent deal.

Sure enough, Rangers have now confirmed Kasanwirjo’s arrival as he becomes summer signing number 10 at Ibrox.

Reports indicate that Rangers are still working on more signings in an attempt to strengthen Clement’s options before the window slams shut.

Sassuolo midfielder Nadim Bajrami has been a key target and it looks like Rangers are now closing in.

Nedim Bajrami to Rangers

Reports in Albania earlier this week suggested that Rangers were in talks to sign Bajrami, possibly in a loan-to-buy deal.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio now claims that Bajrami is on the verge of signing Rangers.

Sky Sports now add that Rangers are hoping to finalise a permanent deal worth €4million (£3.4million) before the transfer deadline.

Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali has now stated, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb, that Bajrami to Rangers is now close.

“It’s being finalised but still not done. We are working on it. I think we’ll reach an agreement soon,” said Carnevali.

Rangers still face a fight to get this deal signed, sealed and delivered before the window shuts but the signs are now encouraging.

Who is Rangers target Nedim Bajrami?

Bajrami hails from Switzerland and came up in the ranks with Swiss side Grasshoppers.

Attacking midfielder Bajrami scored six times in 75 games for Grasshoppers before heading to Italy in 2019, signing for Empoli.

Bajrami was a real goalscoring threat for Empoli, notching 22 goals in 127 appearances.

Sassuolo took Bajrami on loan in January 2023 and he has now recorded four goals in 49 games for the club.

Sassuolo have suffered relegation to Serie B and they may need to sell Bajrami after dropping out of Serie A.

Bajrami enjoyed a big summer having scored a stunning early strike against Italy at Euro 2024.

The 25-year-old now looks set to become Rangers’ latest signing, hot on the heels of Kasanwirjo.
