The Catalan has been a regular for Sevilla up until the last couple of seasons and even wore the captain’s armband for a while.

Speaking to Sevilla’s club media a few seasons ago, Jordan, in an extensive interview, was asked about how his side could recover from poor form:
“Whenever we’ve had a blow, we’ve always got back up.
“The only thing we can do is to keep going.
“We will never surrender, and we are so motivated with what’s at stake.
“The only message I’d send is that we will fight to the death to win on Sunday.”
Exactly the sort of mentality that Rangers need.
Players have to be thick skinned and live with the expectations of having to win every game.
The jersey never shrinks.
As Richard Gough said, “You’re only as good as your last pass, never mind your last game”.
Rangers could land their own version of Toni Kroos
In terms of technical skills, he is every bit as impressive according to Data MB.
Other than on the key passes metric, Jordan measures up closely with another La Liga great in the now retired Toni Kroos.
Not a bad profile of player for a defensive midfielder.
Jordan wins more than his fair share of defensive duels, his passing is also what Philippe Clement needs.
He completes a high percentage of forward passes in terms of his total and completion.
The Spaniard also completes a lot of progressive passes.
In short, he puts his team on the front foot when he wins possession – more often than not.
Jordan is a class above anything Rangers have had since Steven Davis in terms of passing range and could make a real difference in Clement’s engine room.
He would also be a safe pair of hands to guide the likes of Mohamed Diomande, Connor Barron and Nicolas Raskin who are all still learning their trade.
All Rangers have to do now is persuade Sevilla that paying half of his wages is enough to get him off their books and on the first flight to Glasgow.
