Rangers have been boosted by the news that Ibrox midfielder Glen Kamara is set to come back into the side ahead of the Champions League visit of Ajax.
The Finnish international, 27, hasn’t been seen since the 4-0 victory over St Mirren at Ibrox earlier in October and the news is welcome amid a series of injury problems in the Gers squad.
Glen Kamara was one name on a lengthy list of them for Rangers as the club count the cost of several key players absences ahead of the World Cup break.
Connor Goldson, John Souttar, Ben Davies, Filip Helander, Ridvan Yilmaz, Ryan Jack, Ianis Hagi, Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe are all missing for the visit of the Dutch champions.
“We have [Glen] Kamara coming back in the squad,” said Van Bronckhorst [Rangers].
“John] Lundstram is not available because of suspension.
“[Ridvan] Yilmaz will not be ready. He will be out for several weeks. He has a hamstring injury. It will definitely be after the World Cup. I don’t know how long exactly but he will not be involved in the remaining games until the break.
“Ben Davies didn’t train. Hopefully he will be involved at the weekend but tomorrow will be too early.”
Rangers given Glen Kamara boost ahead of Ajax visit
Whilst the return of Glen Kamara – a mainstay in Rangers’ European forays in recent seasons – is a major bonus for the club there are some doubts surrounding the player.
Having signed a new contract at Ibrox last summer, which ties him to the Gers until 2025, there have still been questions surrounding the ex-Arsenal kid’s commitment amid a downturn in form.
After the departures of close friends like of Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo, there are some fears that Glen Kamara isn’t fully satisfied with life at Rangers and has an eye on the exit door.

Whilst the former Dundee midfielder has always been respectful, this hasn’t been helped by soundbites in the press about moving on or those £10m links to OGC Nice in the summer.
Let’s hope that the player manages to find his fitness and form for Rangers in the coming weeks so that no matter what happens in the near future, Glen Kamara is part of a successful Ibrox side.
Meanwhile, Rangers’ injury crisis in one key position intensifies.
