Despite the recent blow for Leon King, Rangers injury list is actually starting to look a lot healthier for Michael Beale and Tom Lawrence and Connor Goldson.

Concerns about who might be fit to line up in the Champions League qualifiers are a hangover from last season with Michael Beale confirming that there is nothing to worry about.

Until King was ruled out for the long-term, Rangers had three players in the treatment room but good news is around the corner after Michael Beale gave an update to Rangers TV.

The respective situations of Steven Davis and Nnamdi Ofoborh are different in that they won’t be considered as players who Rangers will expect to see any time soon in a Light Blue shirt.

For Rangers trio Tom Lawrence, Connor Goldson and Dujon Sterling though, a return to action is imminent as revealed by Michael Beale to RTV:

“Just on the injury front, we’ve some excellent news that Connor Goldson is progressing very well and Tom Lawrence will join the team the moment we return home.”

On Sterling, he said:

“He’s got a slight calf strain. Dujon worked extremely well over the summer, he came back powerful and strong. He looked like one of the fittest in the group.

“Unfortunately, he’s picked up a small problem. It’s a ten to 12-day problem.”

Rangers injury woes improve with Connor Goldson and Tom Lawrence news

For much of last season, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale had only one fit striker available or had to play a midfielder in defence.

Even a big squad couldn’t deal with that sort of luck.

Against Liverpool in the Champions League, Leon King and James Sands were the centre-half pairing and Steven Davis and Scott Arfield were in midfield.

What chance do you have?

Rangers are set to have Tom Lawrence and Connor Goldson fit for the first game of the season and the third qualifying round of the Champions League just a few days later, things are looking a lot brighter.

There is no rush for the former, however, the vice-captain – if there are no set-backs – will be expected to start, given his importance to the team.

Could Rangers really start the new campaign with just one player in the treatment room?

The medical staff won’t know what to do with themselves.

Dr Mark Waller is good, but he’s not even got his feet under his desk yet, now that is impressive.
