Rangers’ move for Brighton attacker Abdallah Sima appears to be getting closer by the second – but one leading tabloid claims the loan switch comes with a catch.
The Daily Record are claiming that whilst the move for Abdallah Sima is expected to go through at Ibrox, Rangers are not expected to have an option to buy on the £7m striker.

This comes after the situation with Bayern loanee Malik Tillman earlier in the summer, Rangers being compensated around £1m after seeing the option-to-buy they had on the player cancelled.
At 22-years-old the best years are in front of the Senegalese international but no matter what happens at Rangers this season, the suggestion is that Brighton won’t be pre-agreeing any transfer to Ibrox.
That may well be seen as a blow to Michael Beale, who has previously suggested that he does not want short-term loan players in his squad.
Abdallah Sima closing in on Rangers
Rangers are said to be closing in on a deal for Abdallah Sima, with reports suggesting that a medical is complete and everything is now in place for Rangers to announce the deal.
The Gers support will be most familiar with Sima from his time with Slavia Prague, the attacker impressing in the Czech club’s run to the Europa League semi-finals in season 20/21.
The striker moved to Brighton at the end of that season but is yet to play for the Premier League side, instead spending two injury hit spells at Stoke in England and Angers in France.
Rangers have been linked to a host of striker options this summer as the club look to bolster a lacklustre frontline which has toiled in recent seasons.

On top of Abdallah Sima, Rangers have already signed Atalanta striker Sam Lammers, whilst reports are claiming that the Gers have also bid for Feyenoord striker Danilo.
There have been claims that a move for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, who has been a long-term summer target, is also far from over.
Everything looks set for Abdallah Sima to become Rangers’ fifth signing of the window, the attacker set to join Kieran Dowell (Norwich), Dujon Sterling (Chelsea), Jack Butland (Crystal Palace) and the aforementioned Lammers in signing on at Ibrox.
