Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister appears to have refuted claims that Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones will be leaving the club in the coming days, as quoted by the Rangers FC Twitter.
On Monday night, the Daily Record reported that both wingers were surplus to requirements at Ibrox and would be moved on in order to make room for a new signing.

When the speculation was brought up during Tuesday morning’s press conference, though, McAllister’s comments suggested that they both have a future with the club.
“Recently, Barker and Jones have both been injured so they need to now show more to get back into the team,” said the assistant boss, as quoted by the Rangers FC Twitter. “If they show enough in training they will get an opportunity.”
Verdict
While the departure of one of those in question, particularly Barker, appeared to be plausible, we did question the likelihood that the Gers would leave themselves short by offloading two wingers in the final days of the window.
Now it seems clear that there is no such intention and that in fact, both players will remain at the club.
It’s not all completely rosy for Messrs Barker and Jones, though, with McAllister challenging them to do more to earn playing time.
They have each made 11 appearances in all competitions this season, contributing just a goal and two assists between them.
It will be interesting to see whether or not either player makes the matchday squad for Wednesday night’s clash against Ross County, as the Gers look to get back on track in the Premiership.
