Premier League Nottingham Forest are reportedly considering a move for Rangers left-back Borna Barisic following the collapse of a deal for Atletico Madrid’s Renan Lodi.
According to the Scottish Sun, former Ibrox sporting director Ross Wilson could turn his attentions to the 30-year-old Croatian after Atleti’s £26m demands priced them out of a move for Lodi.

This comes after the Brazilian full-back spent a stint on loan with Nottingham Forest last season, who survived in the Premier League following their promotion from the Championship.
Led by manager Steve Cooper, according to the report Rangers star Borna Barisic is viewed as a suitable Nottingham Forest alternative with the club considering a £2m offer.
The move is also being intensified by the situation surrounding another Forest left-back in Harry Toffolo, who has been charged by the FA with breaches relating to betting rules.
Nottingham Forest linked to Rangers’ Borna Barisic
The links comes with Barisic out of contract come the end of next season, reports suggesting that Rangers are actually in negotiations with the ex-NK Osijek captain regarding a new deal.
Speaking earlier in the year, the Rangers left-back claimed that he has a solid relationship with the Ibrox side as he looked ahead to the final year of his current contract.
“In the summer, I enter the last year of my contract. I have a top relationship with everyone at Rangers,” said Barisic.
“If I went to another club, I would choose the one that was just like Rangers.
“But you never know what could happen, the situation could change in a day.”

Rangers also have young Turkish left-back Ridvan Yilmaz in their ranks, who joined the Ibrox side in reported £3.4m rising to £5m deal from Besiktas last summer.
A year on from that move, the youngster is expected to play a bigger role next season but if Nottingham Forest did plump for Borna Barisic we’d expect Rangers to re-enter the market.
There’s no substitute for experience and as Michael Beale explained with the return for Leon Balogun, moments on the pitch for Rangers are priceless.
