In a possible big boost for Rangers, ‘sources close to’ Alfredo Morelos have reportedly claimed that Porto are unlikely to bid for the Ibrox star [Daily Record].
Morelos has been liked with the Portuguese giants for several months, as they look for a replacement for previous talisman Moussa Marega, who has joined Al-Hilal.

A Bola reported in July that El Bufalo would try to convince Rangers officials to sell him, having already asked Colombia teammates Mateus Uribe and Luis Diaz about life in Portugal’s second-largest city.
Porto fans have also pleaded with the Gers star to join their club.
However, an issue raised consistently across this window has been an allegedly sizeable gap between the two clubs in terms of their valuations of the player and O Jogo recently asserted that the chances of a transfer are fading.
Now, a Daily Record report has claimed that ‘sources close to’ Morelos ‘don’t believe the Portuguese giants will make a move’.

Possible big boost for Rangers
At one stage this looked like a transfer that was on the verge of going through, but it now seems increasingly unlikely to happen.
No other clubs have been seriously linked with the Ibrox star in this window, either, suggesting it’s now likely that the Colombia international stays put.
That would be fantastic news for Rangers fans, given how important he is to the team.
Despite not yet being fully fit following a brief post-Copa America holiday and a 10-day isolation period, Morelos was outstanding in the first half against Malmo on Tuesday night and scored the Gers’ only goal.
Steven Gerrard also has Kemar Roofe, Fashion Sakala, Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe to call upon, but none of those forwards offer as much as Morelos and the 25-year-old could drag the team out of their current slump.
Meanwhile, a player who was sold by Rangers last week scored a penalty in a dramatic cup shootout win on Tuesday.
