Philippe Clement will be hoping that Rangers can pull a rabbit or two out of the hat on deadline day and provide him with reinforcements.
The manager now has a squad with a younger average age and several academy prospects on the bench.
One player who was conspicuous by his absence against Ross County was Zak Lovelace, who has been linked with a move away from Rangers.

Zak Lovelace nears Rangers exit after squad absence vs Ross County
According to reports, Lovelace is homesick and moving back to Millwall on a Bosman deal when his contract expires in the summer.
Despite his injury problems, there is clearly a talented player there and Clement has always given the 19-year old time in the first team training sessions at Auchenhowie.
Recently, the Rangers boss has given him playing time too with only a late goal from Cyriel Dessers preventing him from getting on against Man Utd at Old Trafford.
What this means, is that Clement is even shorter in terms of cover on the wing.
Rabbi Matondo has joined Hannover on loan which leaves Vaclav Cerny and Oscar Cortés as the senior wingers in the squad with Findlay Curtis stepping up from the academy.
Clearing up Lovelace’s absence, Clement said:
“I don’t have any update about players if there’s nothing official. And to be clear about Zak, he was today not in the selection because he had a problem with his toe. So he got an injection yesterday from the doctor. So otherwise he would have been on the bench.”
Clement wants Rangers board to dig deep
The Rangers manager has addressed transfers recently, and it’s clear that he knows that there needs to be more depth:
”I think it’s necessary to make a next step with the squad in certain positions,” said Clement.
“We will see how far we will get because at the end it’s the board who decides what money can be spent and where.”
With time running out, Rangers are only a couple of injuries away from a crisis and having to go to the Under-18s, never mind the B team.
At this time of the season, permanent deals are hard to come by but there is no excuse, with so much money being freed up, that a loan signing can’t be made.
