One year on from being heavily linked with Rangers, PSV Eindhoven playmaker Xavi Simons has admitted he could move on again amid links to Arsenal and PSG.
Xavi Simons – who has been rated at around £20m – has been extensively linked with a move to Premier League Arsenal and to former side PSG in Ligue 1, the French giants having a buyback clause on the player.
Speaking to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder admitted that he could quit the Philips Stadion only one year after joining the club from the Ligue 1 giants in Paris.
This comes with PSV and Xavi Simons currently managerless after Dutch legend Ruud van Nistelrooy left the club following a 2nd place finish in the Eredivisie table.
“Clearly a lot has changed now,” said Simons.
“I haven’t met or spoken to the new manager yet. I will speak to him and sit with PSV, then decide my future.
“I’m aware of PSG clause to bring me back — but as far as I’m aware they also don’t have a manager yet”.
Xavi Simons considering PSV Eindhoven exit
Rangers were linked with a move for Xavi Simons last summer as his contract ticked down in Paris but it would be PSV Eindhoven who’d eventually strike a deal for the player.
Gers fans will also remember coming up against Xavi Simons and his PSV teammates in the Champions League Playoff last season, which Rangers won 3-2 on aggregate.
One of European football’s brightest talents, there are expected to be no shortage of suitors and these latest comments will have some of the continent’s biggest clubs asking the question.

But for Rangers fans awestruck by the links to the highly-rated youngster last season, there will always be an element of the one that got away as the kid’s career continues to grow.
Xavi Simons finished the Eredivisie’s joint-top scorer last season (19) and wound up netting an impressive 22 goals and laying on 12 assists in 48 games in total for the Dutch side.
