Bologna have joined the race to sign Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin as the Italian club look to rebuild their engine room under new head coach Domenico Tedesco.

The 25-year-old Belgium international has emerged as a concrete target for the Rossoblu, who are tracking him closely while he represents his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

Tedesco is searching for a dynamic midfield leader to anchor his 4-3-3 system, and Raskin’s profile fits the club’s summer blueprint perfectly.

Rangers are under no pressure to sell the former Standard Liege man, who is contracted until 2028, but there is a growing feeling that now is the best time to part ways.

Heavy Serie A competition for Rangers star

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Bologna have set their sights on signing Raskin as they look to bolster their options in midfield under Tedesco.

However, Bologna are not the only Italian side vying for the midfielder’s signature, as Serie A rivals Atalanta have already identified the Belgian as a top target.

The Bergamo club are actively seeking a direct replacement for Manchester United-bound Ederson, giving them a significant incentive to push for a deal.

It is worth noting that Raskin will not be short of options if he leaves Ibrox this summer, with Tottenham also among those interested in him.

For his part, the player is keen to seek a move away from Rangers after spending three-and-a-half years there.

Raskin valuation and Lewis Ferguson wildcard

There have been suggestions that the Ibrox board would want at least £20million for Raskin if they are to sanction a sale this summer.

Bologna’s interest in the player has led to suggestions of a potential player-plus-cash exchange involving Lewis Ferguson, who is heavily being linked with a move to Rangers.

While fans are dreaming of seeing the Scotland international play under Derek McInnes at Ibrox, Bologna have shown no desire to offload him yet.

With Raskin currently focused on Belgium’s World Cup group stage matches, having recently featured against Egypt and Iran, a formal resolution to his club future is expected to accelerate once his international duties conclude.
