Michael Beale has always been open about Rangers transfer business and the gaffer has made another exciting announcement.

After seeing his side comfortably beat Hibernian 3-1 with a full team missing, the 42-year old was quick to give fans something to look forward to with Hearts visiting Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Speaking to BBC Scotland post-match, Michael Beale revealed that as many as three new Rangers signings could be close and that one could even be presented before the crowd in mid-week:

“The window doesn’t open just yet so we can’t announce anything but when it opens we’ll be ready to announce one or two.

One might be announced on Wednesday at Ibrox so there’s another reason for people to maybe come along and see us in midweek.

Players who are still under contract and have games to play can probably be written off but it does sound as if Michael Beale and Rangers have a few pre-contract agreement deals tied up.

Of the names mentioned so far, Kieran Dowell and Dujon Sterling have finished their respective seasons and are out of contract in the summer so it could be one of those two.

Dowell and Sterling are both said to have signed pre-contract agreements with Rangers.

Jack Butland will still have a couple of games to cover for Man Utd and Jose Cifuentes can’t be signed until the transfer window opens.

It has been an exciting couple of weeks in terms of rumours with the names being mentioned a solid mix of proven experience and good value youngsters with decent CVs.

Put it another way, if Michael Beale and Rangers manager to sign the players that have most heavily been linked then we will be in a good place when the season kicks off.

Rangers fans might want this season to end because of a lack of trophies, however, seeing our intent for next campaign before it is done wouldn’t be a bad way to go out.
