Rangers will be linked with Lawrence Shankland every day in this transfer window until they sign him or until the window closes as Philippe Clement looks for reinforcements.
The Gers boss needs more goals in his forward line and few would be better to have in the squad than the Hearts skipper, the added bonus being that he already knows his way around Ibrox.
If Rangers don’t sign Lawrence Shankland in this transfer window the speculation will on ramp up again in the summer, even if he does put pen to paper on a new deal with Jambos manager Steven Naismith doing everything he can to persuade him to stay in the capital.

Rangers link to Lawrence Shankland sees Naismith sweat
There are growing murmurs of discontent amongst the Rangers support at the apparent lack of activity but Clement is confident of getting more players in.
He has earned our trust by the manner that he has gone about his work so we should believe him when he says that Rangers are close to a few deals being made.
One of those could well be Shankland, however, Naismith, via Hearts Standard’s Joel Sked, is determined to keep his star man:
“We want to keep Shanks. As a club we will do all we can to keep Shanks. Everybody here loves him. Everybody wants him to stay.
“We don’t want to sell him.”
Who could blame him?
With nearly 20 goals before Christmas, Shankland is the main reason why Hearts are favourites to finish third in the Scottish Premiership table which would almost guarantee an £8m European football windfall over the next two seasons.
The 28-year old is responsible for 14 of his sides 24 goals in the league, it doesn’t take a genius to work out what might happen if you take his numbers away.
But, Rangers need these numbers too.
It could be the difference between winning and losing league.
And, can the Rangers board really put a price on that after the last two seasons?
