You only need to have a quick glance at social media to see that there is a growing sense of frustration amongst Rangers fans, however, Philippe Clement has earned our trust.
The Gers boss isn’t one for hyperbole, nor is he one to mislead, instead, he is honest but at the same time, gives as little away as possible.
With two weeks of the transfer window, Rangers clearly still have work to do and Philippe Clement’s post-match press conference should reassure fans, not worry them.

Rangers near to new deals for Philippe Clement
Only Fabio Silva has arrived so far and the Portuguese forward looks sharp, even if he appears to be more suited to playing at number ten rather than through the middle.
He worked tirelessly, linked play and caused Copenhagen’s defence problems although it would be nice if his teammates could start providing him with some chances.
When asked if he was any closer to adding to his Rangers squad, Philippe Clement replied:
“I get this question a few times but what is closer? So long as there is not a deal, you’re not closer or further away. There are some things close but it needs to be finished.”
Clement doesn’t say something if he doesn’t mean it.
Everything he has said he was going to do, so far, he has done.
He is engaging and open in his press conferences without giving anything away, compare this to Michael Beale, who would talk at length about almost every transfer target, and it is easy to see why he has achieved what he has achieved.
If Philippe Clement says that Rangers are “close” to getting new faces in at Ibrox, then we are close.
It doesn’t serve his, or anyone else’s interests to hint at more business being done in the coming days if he isn’t confident.
You can see why the players seem to like him too.
Almost every one of them, when asked, has spoken about his honesty and man-management skills and how clear he is with his message.
Clement was clear with this message too, be patient.
Good things come to those who wait.
