Man United are set to sign Charlie McNeill from Manchester City after fighting off competition from Rangers and Juventus, according to the Sun.
The Gers allegedly held talks with McNeill’s representatives, while Italian giants Juventus and Champions League semi-finalists, RB Leipzig, were also linked with a swoop.
Yet, the 17-year-old will reportedly return to boyhood club Manchester United after opting against signing a professional contract at City.
It’s suggested that the Red Devils will pay around £750,000 to bring the exciting forward across the city.

It shows the level of ambition that Rangers have to strengthen the club’s Academy that they were in the running for McNeill alongside some of the biggest and most powerful clubs in world football.
Given that the England U17 international is a United fan, though, it was always going to be an uphill battle when Ole Gunnar Solksjaer entered the race.
McNeill is very highly rated after scoring prolifically for Man City’s youth teams, but even for a player of his talent, £750,000 would have constituted a big outlay for the Gers on a player with no senior experience.
Rangers have already brought a number of talented attackers into the Academy ranks for the 2020/21 season, though, including Tony Weston from Blackpool, Charlie Lindsay from Glentoran and James Graham from Ross County.
