Lyon have been in pursuit of signing Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti in the summer transfer window.
The Portuguese took a while to get going after his move from Everton last season, but Danny Rohl managed to get a tune out of the striker.
Soon, Chermiti became among the first names on the team sheet and given how he ended the campaign, his valuation has nearly tripled.
He was signed for £8m, and the Gers are now demanding at least £20m for his services this summer.
Which formation should Derek McInnes use at Rangers?
Given the players he's got so far, there are a number of ways that the team can play…
Lyon have not followed up after learning Youssef Chermiti’s valuation
Lyon appear to have ended their interest in Chermiti as the Gers are not lowering their valuation and the striker is not forcing his way out of Ibrox.
Andy Devlin has claimed that the Ligue 1 side enquired about the possibility of signing the 22-year-old.
However, once they learned that it would take £20m to do a deal, they did not follow up on their interest.
How much should Rangers demand for Youssef Chermiti?
He scored 15 goals in his first season at Ibrox…
Rangers already turned down an offer for Chermiti from Lyon, who shored up their interest by tabling an official bid.
Joe Gelhardt had been lined up as a replacement, but as things stand, the Light Blues are not actively pursuing the Leeds United forward.
With the links to Lyon cooling and the Portuguese already an active part of Derek McInnes‘ pre-season plans, it seems likely that he will be staying put at Ibrox.

How can Derek McInnes get the best out of Chermiti at Rangers?
Chermiti excels when he has another striker playing next to him, and with Lawrence Shankland joining, they can form a lethal front two.
The former Everton man can play slightly behind the Scotland international, and McInnes will work on their positioning in pre-season so as to get the best out of both of them.
Chermiti is good in the air and is also quick, so he could encourage the striker to make late runs into the box and offer a different kind of threat compared to Shankland.
McInnes is also expected to ask the 22-year-old to drop deeper and link up with the midfielders, while Shankland will be asked to stretch the play.
It will undoubtedly be fascinating to watch the duo lead the line for the Light Blues, and this is the hallmark of a title-winning team.
