As Rangers announce a deal for Sam Lammers, the latest transfer news coming out of the club suggests moves for Cyriel Dessers and Jose Cifuentes are in the pipeline.

The Ibrox side have been plenty busy in this window already with Dutch striker Sam Lammers the club’s fourth summer transfer already with the latest Rangers news hinting the club won’t stop there.

Rangers manager Michael Beale was talking after the club announced a move for the 26-year-old Atalanta forward and the Ibrox boss was plenty positive that more deals are set to be confirmed.

This comes with pre-contract deals already struck for Norwich City’s Kieran Dowell, Chelsea’s Dujon Sterling and Crystal Palace’s Jack Butland.

“I am delighted with our progress so far in this summer transfer window,” Michael Beale told the official Rangers website.

“We have worked extremely well to recruit Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Sam Lammers. We are ahead of schedule in our plans.

“The coming weeks will see more trading both in and out of the squad as we prepare for the season ahead. We have key areas of focus and we are close to securing our targets in those positions.”

It’s good news on the transfer front for Rangers fans, but who exactly is Michael Beale talking about?

Rangers transfer news hints at £6.5m double deal

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock over the last few weeks, you’ll be well aware of two players in particular who’ve been strongly linked with Ibrox in Cyriel Dessers and Jose Cifuentes.

Addressing fans who’ve been pestering him for insider transfer news, David Edgar of Heart & Hand appeared to confirm these two targets and gave some interesting timelines on both earlier in the week.

Speaking before the announcement of the Sam Lammers deal, the Rangers insider claimed the deal for Cyriel Dessers deal is closer than the proposed move for Jose Cifuentes.

“Dessers still a bit to go but hopefully next week,” David Edgar tweeted. “Talks progressing with Cifuentes.

“That’s all I have before you start asking me about anyone else.”

Heart & Hand aren’t the only Rangers fan media discussing the transfer news coming out of Ibrox either, with Four Lads Had a Dream another who’ve been talking about potential targets.

Mentioning both Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers in a recent blog post, there was some discussion regarding potential transfer fees.

It appears that Rangers could wind up having to pay up to £1.5m for LAFC midfielder Cifuentes, whilst according to 4LHAD the club is holding out to strike a £4m deal for Cremonese forward Dessers.

However, reports elsewhere have claimed it will take a £5m package to bring the Belgian-born Nigerian international striker to Glasgow.

All the sounds from within Rangers certainly suggest the club are closing in on yet more transfer targets, but the news on potential fees will raise eyebrows.

After splashing a reported £3m to finalise a deal for Sam Lammers, the club could be about to sign off on a further £6.5m to complete moves for Jose Cifuentes and Cyriel Dessers.
