The Rangers pursuit of Joan Jordan looked set to be the latest transfer which had fallen short in Glasgow this summer.
In what is proving a tricky window for the Ibrox side, Rangers have struggled to get a number of deals over the line with Jordan the fourth high-profile name the club looked to have missed out on.
As reports in Spain emerged that Rangers had agreed a deal with Sevilla over the loan of Joan Jordan, hopes had risen of a transfer being concluded.
But reports in Scotland quickly dampened the excitement with Chris Jack claiming Rangers have moved on from Jordan this summer.
It led to suggestions that Joan Jordan didn’t fancy the move to Scotland.
However, the latest from reputable sources in Spain has suggested that the 30-year-old’s entourage and the player himself has not turned down Rangers because they know nothing about any interest.

Jordan ‘knows nothing’ of Rangers interest
Whilst there is nothing to suggest Rangers remain interested in Joan Jordan, the latest claims from Spain make for interesting reading.
Spanish outlet ABC are so close to Sevilla they have an Orgullo de Nervión section on their website.
This translates to the ‘Pride of Nervion’ with Nervion being the area where Sevilla reside.
They have released a very interesting report this morning which claims Joan Jordan knows nothing about any Rangers bid and that the player’s entourage has NOT turned the club down.
This comes amid a furious backlash from Sevilla supporters, many of whom accused Jordan of milking the club’s already tight wage bill with his £70k per week salary.
Claiming the situation with Jordan remains ‘unresolved’, ABC have said that Jordan has not been told about any Gers offer and that his team of agents are unaware of any interest.
A translated excerpt reads:
“In recent days it has been reported from Scotland that Rangers have gone after the player with a loan proposal with an option to buy, worth €4m (£3.3m).
“The same sources reported that Jordán would have rejected that offer to go on loan to the Glasgow team.
“However, as this media has learned, the player’s entourage assures that Jordán has not rejected Rangers nor does he have any knowledge of a proposal from the Scottish club. He has not spoken with Sevilla FC about that hypothetical option either.”
Rangers move on from Spanish midfielder
Whilst this adds an extra dimension to the reports of Joan Jordan turning Rangers down, the situation does not confirm if the club remain interested.
For the time being, the Gers are one of a number of clubs who’ve been linked to Jordan but only an offer from Deportivo Alavés is known to the player and his team.
That offer was deemed financially insufficient for Sevilla to sanction a deal and now Jordan has been left in the lurch by the Spanish club and controversial sporting director Victor Orta.
Questions will now surround why Rangers’ quite public transfer interest has suddenly been quashed as Philippe Clement looks to rebuild his squad this summer.
Whilst there is plenty of talk around the situation, suggestions Jordan didn’t want the move to Rangers appear patently incorrect.
