Rangers have been urged to make a move for Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski – if there is money left in the Ibrox budget.
That is the verdict of pundit Kris Boyd, who still doesn’t seem convinced by Rangers’ summer requirement in attack.
Michael Beale splashed the cash by landing Cyriel Dessers, Danilo and Sam Lammers to bolster his Rangers forward line.
Lammers now appears to be more of a number 10 under Philippe Clement whilst Dessers has yet to convince supporters.
Danilo is starting to show encouraging signs but Rangers will ultimately need more from those three signings in 2024.
Kris Boyd backs Bojan Miovski for Rangers
Former Rangers hitman Boyd has been critical of these signings of late and has named somebody he would rather see in the Gers attack.
Boyd has told The Scottish Sun that he thinks Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski would be an ideal Rangers signing.
The Macedonian joined Aberdeen from Hungarian side MTK in 2022 and has become a Pittodrie hero of late.
Miovski has now smashed 28 goals and six assists in 60 Aberdeen games, including scoring the winner against Hibernian at Hampden Park on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has been hailed by Boyd, pointing out that he is a physical handful with impressive movement and ability on the ball.
Boyd does though doubt that Aberdeen would sell Miovski to Rangers, and also isn’t sure the Gers will splash more cash on a striker after the summer outlay – which Boyd thinks was just wasted cash.
“If Rangers are looking for a new hitman in January then they could do an awful lot worse than making an attempt to sign him,” said Boyd. “I know, the chances of Aberdeen selling their best player to Gers are highly unlikely. I also reckon Miovski could command a fee of around £5million, and that’s probably a little too rich for Rangers’ blood right now, given the money they spent and wasted this summer.”
“But there’s no doubt the Dons talisman will be interesting clubs. He’s a handful, someone with terrific movement and technical ability, and he clearly knows how to finish with nine goals already this season,” he added.

Rangers would be wise to keep tabs on Miovski
Rangers have missed out on a few players by not shopping enough in the Scottish market.
Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson springs to mind here, as does Hellas Verona left back Josh Doig.
Rangers also dodged a move to sign defender Ryan Porteous from Hibernian, with the Scot now featuring for Watford.
Rangers need to be smarter with recruitment moving forward and that may well include a more open approach to signing top Scottish Premiership players.
Miovski fits that bill having dazzled for Aberdeen, and we would encourage the Gers to keep tabs on him heading into 2024 and beyond.
