Key Rangers star reaffirms Ibrox commitment amid vague exit claims

Rangers defender Borna Barisic has sent a defiant message on social media amid reports that the Croatian international could leave Ibrox this summer.

Ibrox left-back Borna, 29, is a player of huge quality when he is in form but is prone to mentality lapses which can disrupt his form.

Very much a confidence player, it’s led to some inconsistency over his four years at Ibrox with some reports suggesting his time in Glasgow could be up this summer.

In a vague report, Football Scotland spawned multiple mirrored reports when it claimed Rangers would consider selling Borna Barisic for the right place.

Just like anyone in the squad, then.

Rangers star Borna Barisic reaffirms Ibrox commitment

The report made mention of that measly reported £2m Watford bid from January and we’re pretty sure Rangers would be expecting more to part with a player of Barisic’s quality.

But whilst all the talk is on potential exits and a summer Ibrox rebuild – something Giovanni van Bronckhorst insists won’t be the case – Barisic’s latest social media message points to an Ibrox stay this summer.

Taking to Instagram, the likeable Croatian star sent a message to supporters telling them he’ll see them after the summer break.

“Two very different feelings in last four days of the season but at the end I’m very happy and proud of our team,” said Borna Barisic.

“Congratulations to every player for Saturday 120min Final.

“See you next season everyone and thank you for your support”.

This is more than a hint regarding where Borna certainly sees his future although we’re pretty sure those earlier reports have a point.

Yes, if the price is right Borna Barisic will leave Rangers, but that’s true of every single player and we don’t expect the Croatian to be heading up any exodus.

Speaking of Ibrox exits, there’s some confusion surrounding claims that one key Rangers star could be on his way out of the club.
