The season hasn’t even finished yet and already the Rangers rumours have started filtering through the WhatsApp chats as Bordeaux striker Josh Maja allegedly meets Michael Beale.
It doesn’t take much to kickstart the Ibrox rumour mill into full action and rarely a window goes by without explosive rumours popping up left, right and centre in the Rangers support.
But ahead of what promises to be the busiest window in half a decade, Rangers fans are getting in early when it comes to the ins, outs and what if’s ahead of next season.
Josh Maja is a Rangers transfer link with genuine substance it would appear, the striker refusing to be drawn on a Bordeaux exit and specifically a move to Ibrox when asked over the weekend.
“I can’t think about that at the moment,” said Josh Maja.
“We have so many important games before the end of the season and I have to concentrate on that only.
“We’ll see what happens at the end of the season. I have to wait to hear what the management of this club says and whether they want to keep me.”

Despite this, the 17-goal striker is rumoured to have met Michael Beale in Scotland with Josh Maja allegedly being given the Cameron House treatment on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond.
We can neither confirm or deny if this is the case – But what’s interesting is that Josh Maja is currently embroiled in a promotion push with Bordeaux, who sit 2nd in Ligue 2, three points clear of 3rd place Metz with only two games to play.
Whilst it’s currently the midweek before the game, it would be interesting to consider that Josh Maja – who earlier said he was focused on Bordeaux until the end of the season – would break ranks to discuss any Rangers deal.
The striker is fully within his rights given his contract is set to expire at the end of the season, so we can’t say either way, but with Bordeaux’s Ligue 1 dream teetering on the brink we’re not sure now is the time to consider terms.
Especially when you consider reports that Josh Maja has an option to extend by another year at Bordeaux if they win promotion back to the French top flight.
As the Josh Maja rumours spread, Rangers fans are getting excited ahead of the summer, and perhaps it is the 24-year-old Nigerian who is Michael Beale’s mystery man up top.
