Jean-Phillipe Krasso contract timeline revealed amid Rangers striker need

Jean-Phillipe Krasso is an impressive striker and, on a free transfer, is a player that Rangers should be looking at.

The Ivory Coast international has enjoyed a fine season in Ligue 2, even if St Etienne haven’t been able to match his efforts as a team.

Michael Beale has already been linked with a few players for next campaign but, other than Josh Maja, striker names have been short in both number and substance with Alfredo Morelos certain to leave Ibrox.

However, if Maja is a target, you would think that Jean-Phillip Krasso would be on Rangers radar too seeing as he is playing in the same league.

Targeting players on Bosman deals is never straight forward and competition will always be fierce.

It might mean higher wages but in some cases, it means that players who might normally be out of reach become more realistic.

What is the latest on Jean-Phillipe Krasso and Rangers striker hunt?

Krasso is on a reported £6,000 a week so his salary demands should be more than affordable, if anything, we might end up with a better player than Alfredo Morelos and shave some money off the wage bill.

Standing at 6fft 2inches tall and with a powerful frame, the Ivorian is also an even bigger handful for defenders.

In the past, players would sign pre-contract agreements, these though, seem to becoming rarer.

Krasso has joined the ever growing list who have decided to wait until the end of the season before committing their future, as reported by French media outlet Day FR Euro:

“For the moment, I am really focused on Saint-Étienne and I leave my future in the hands of the people who have to manage this. Even if we are on the right track, we are not yet mathematically maintained.

I would also like why not finish top scorer and assist. Then we can think about the future.”

As Connor Goldson did last year, it looks like Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos will also wait until the football is finished before revealing their next moves.

Either way though, Rangers need reinforcements up front for next season.

If Michael Beale has done his job right, it could be one out, one in without getting the chequebook out as the Gers gaffer looks to replace a huge figure in our recent history without breaking the bank.
