Rangers manager Michael Beale has suggested that Alfredo Morelos may not be at the club next season.

Beale has suggested to Sky Sports that along with goalkeeper Allan McGregor, striker Morelos could also leave Rangers at the end of the season.

The Colombia international striker is out of contract at Rangers at the end of the season.

No new deal is in place between Rangers and the 26-year-old striker.

Like Morelos, McGregor is also out of contract at former Scottish Premiership champions Rangers in the summer of 2023.

Michael Beale on Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos

Beale said: “Last week everyone that played – barring maybe Alfredo and Allan – will be a Rangers player next season and it was a strong performance again with five goals.”

Verdict: Summer exit inevitable

In our view, Alfredo Morelos is going to leave Rangers at the end of the season.

We have no doubt about that.

If Rangers and Morelos could find an agreement over a new contract, then they would have done so by now.

Moreover, Beale publicly suggesting that the striker could leave Rangers in the summer of 2023 shows that the Gers do not think that an agreement is going to be reached.

Morelos has made 13 starts and 16 substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season.

The Rangers no. 20, described as “fantastic” by Beale in March 2023, has scored 11 goals and given five assists in those games.
