Italian giants Juventus have targeted ex-Aberdeen and Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson as he continues to show Rangers precisely what they’re missing.

The Scotland international, 23, moved to Serie A in a reported £3m deal this summer with Aberdeen finally selling the player to Italian outfit Bologna.

This came amid several high-profile links to Rangers with the Gers prominently mentioned as potential suitors due to links with ex-player dad Derek and uncle Barry.

But whilst Rangers toil in the Scottish Premiership, perhaps lacking the commitment and bite a player like Lewis Ferguson would bring, Lewis Ferguson has been impressing in Serie A.

Juventus linked to Lewis Ferguson

Scoring his third goal in only nine Serie A games over the weekend, Lewis Ferguson has apparently alerted Juventus as his strike in a 3-0 Bologna win over Sassuolo brings the club to 11th in the Italian top flight.

That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who claim the European giants are monitoring the the player as they look to rebuild their squad between January and the summer.

The strike at the weekend follows on from goals against Lecce and Monzo and actually means Lewis has three goals in his last five league games for his new club.

Juventus have had a difficult season and are currently 10 points off runaway league leaders Napoli, whilst they were knocked out of the Champions League and will drop into the Europa.

If Juventus came knocking for Lewis Ferguson we’re sure it’d be hard to resist and perhaps Rangers would be left ruing the fact they never made that interest in the midfielder concrete.

Meanwhile, another summer Rangers target looks set to complete a move elsewhere in a deal believed to be worth around £8m.
