Hull City are closing in on a loan deal for Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho as Leicester City miss out amid links to Rangers target Million Manhoef.

Reports are suggesting that the Tigers will complete a deal for the 21-year-old Portuguese winger, who has just been recalled to Anfield from a loan stint at RB Leipzig.

The move will be of interest to Rangers fans given Championship leaders Leicester City were linked with a move for Carvalho in the January window.

The Foxes have also been linked to fellow wide-man Million Manhoef, who is reportedly a main target for the Rangers squad in the January transfer window.

Fabio Carvalho readies Hull City move

One man who will not care a jot about that is Hull City owner Acun Ilicali, who is absolutely delighted to sign the talented Liverpool winger join his club.

Speaking to Sky Sports with the deal nearing completion, the owner claims “many clubs” wanted to sign the ex-Fulham star.

“We agreed all terms with him,” said Ilicali. “I’m very happy to say he’s going to wear the Hull shirt. 

“It’s almost done. The announcement has to be done, that’s all. The club will do it.

“So many clubs wanted him and he chose us. It’s because of the way we are playing the game. Liam Rosenior has a big effect on that, playing nice football.

“He wants to go to a place where he will enjoy football. Hull is the best place for him to improve his talents.

“We are a fantastic club with fantastic players and a fantastic coach. Everything is so good here.”

According to the Leicester Mercury, Enzo Maresca’s side have been “beaten” to the signature of Carvalho by Hull.

Leicester blow amid Rangers Million Manhoef links

Ibrox fans will now be waiting to see the outcome of the club’s reported pursuit of Million Manhoef in the January window.

Leicester City have routinely been named as suitors for the 21-year-old Netherlands U21 international winger and the news that Fabio Carvalho is moving to Hull means they’re still on the hunt for a player in Manhoef’s position.

The situation surrounding the winger remains unclear as things stand with reports in the Netherlands claiming current club Vitesse would rather not lose the player at this stage of the season.

It comes with the side rooked to the bottom of the Eredivisie table, with the sentiment being that they can kiss goodbye to their top flight status should the winger leave this month.
