It’s no secret Rangers are on the hunt for additional firepower this summer.
The Ibrox club are going to need all the sharpshooters they can find if they’re to wrestle back domestic dominance from Old Firm rivals Celtic.
Having lost Kemar Roofe at the end of his contract, Hamza Igamane has come into the Rangers team from FAR Rabat.
But with Fabio Silva heading back to Wolves and the future of Brighton loanee Abdallah Sima still uncertain, the Gers are unarguably short in the final third.
Throw in reports that Cyriel Dessers could be set to leave Ibrox and suddenly a perfect storm is brewing.
Now, the Premier League plates have started shifting under one high profile reported striker transfer target and could result in those Rangers links being settled one way or another.

Rangers-linked Rrahmani a wanted man
OK so we’ve never really been able to ascertain if Rangers are serious suitors for Albion Rrahmani.
The Kosovan striker burst onto the scene last season by netting 19 goals for Romanian club Rapid Bucharest and the links first appeared this summer.
Rangers have been extensively linked in Eastern Europe but Rapid’s stiff Rrahmani asking price of €8m (£6.7m) is said to be a sticking point.
With clubs across Europe also mentioned as suitors, it remains unclear if anyone is actually willing to stump up such an amount up.
But one Italian club who were linked last week may soon be in a position to meet the Romanian side’s demands.
Champions League outfit Bologna are reportedly interested in Albion Rrahmani replacing seemingly Manchester United-bound Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee.
Now, the latest developments surrounding the Euro 2024 striker’s next move may well start the ball rolling and silence all that Rangers chatter once and for all.
According to the likes of Sky Sports, Erik Ten Hag’s team have reached a £34m agreement with Bologna to bring Joshua Zirkzee to Old Trafford.
Ibrox striker transfer hunt continues
I guess that means we’ll find out soon enough whether or not Albion Rrahmani is a genuine target for Bologna.
Zirkzee was a key player in Thiago Motta’s Bologna team last season and on paper Rrahmani looks a solid replacement.
With the likes of Benfica, Napoli and even Aston Villa linked to Rrahmani earlier in the summer – with Prague duo Sparta and Slavia also mentioned – there’s reportedly plenty of interest in the 23-year-old.
Rangers meanwhile continue to rebuild the club’s squad in the image of Belgian duo Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen.
The club’s frontline is expected to be boosted with investment this summer with all eyes on who comes into Ibrox.
